2. Information handled by this website

The website has no user accounts, contact form, advertising network, behavioural analytics script or marketing tracker. We do not ask you to submit personal information merely to browse the site or download SignalDojo.

Technical delivery data

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser or device information, network routing information and security signals. Cloudflare handles this data to deliver, secure and operate its services under its own privacy terms.

Email correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address, display name, message, attachments and any other information you choose to include. Please do not send confidential recordings, credentials, health information or other sensitive material unless we have specifically agreed that it is necessary.

Donations

If you donate through PayPal, PayPal processes the payment. We may receive limited transaction information made available to a recipient, such as your name, email address, amount, date and transaction reference. We do not receive your full card number or bank-account credentials.

3. How and why information is used

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

• respond to questions, support requests, feedback and collaboration enquiries;
• investigate bug reports and responsible security disclosures;
• administer and acknowledge voluntary donations;
• protect the website, project, users and public from abuse, fraud or security threats;
• keep records needed for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes; and
• comply with applicable law and enforce project rights.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the basis will normally be our legitimate interests in operating and securing the project and responding to you, steps taken at your request, compliance with a legal obligation, or your consent where specifically requested. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

4. Cookies and local storage

SignalDojo does not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies and its website code does not use browser local storage. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security or delivery mechanisms when enabled for the domain. Because the site does not use non-essential cookies, it does not display a marketing-cookie consent banner.

5. Service providers and external links

The site links to or relies on the following services:

• Cloudflare for DNS, security and website delivery;
• GitHub for source code, releases, installer downloads and issue tracking; and
• PayPal for optional donations.

When you follow an external link, the destination service receives information according to its own configuration and privacy policy. SignalDojo does not control those independent services. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect legal rights or safety, or as part of a project transfer where appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell personal information.

6. International processing

Cloudflare, GitHub, PayPal and email providers may process data in countries other than your own. Those providers are responsible for the transfer mechanisms and safeguards applicable to their processing. Email correspondence may also be accessed wherever the project operator securely works.

7. Retention

Support and general correspondence is normally retained for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, then deleted or anonymised unless it remains reasonably necessary for an unresolved issue, security record, legal claim or project history. Donation and accounting records may be kept for the period required by applicable tax or financial-record laws. Hosting and third-party service logs are retained according to the relevant provider’s policies.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small open-source project, including HTTPS delivery, limited data collection and access controls for project accounts. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. You may also ask us to stop using information based on consent. To exercise a right, email us and describe your request. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records.

10. Children

This engineering-software website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the website, project practices or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be published on this page.
